I'm not a typewriter expert. This is used with normal wear. This needs a new ribbon because I took the old one out. Also made a video to show you that the top doesn't stay up by itself (not sure why).

Up for Fixed Price Auction is a Royal Quiet De Luxe Black Manual Typewriter with original case. Not sure of the year of the manufacturing. Typewriter performs functions as designed. Nothing seems to be amiss. I’m selling this item for a friend and history is very, very limited. Seems to me an ideal candidate for a servicing and then plenty of use. Typewriter does show mild wear. Case shows more wear as expected. There is no key to the lock. But, the latch locks and opens with a push of a button without the key. Made in the USA. The serial number is O T352421. The original platen, paper feed, ribbon feed, new ribbon, original spools, margin release, back space, tab, shift lock, original feet, bell are all good. Types very well in elite.

Carriage roller appears to be looser than should be. All keys are present and moving, but stick occasionally. I may be misreading one of the serial digits as well.

It needs a new ribbon, but all the keys work. There is no number one key but a small EL substitutes for one on these models. The typewriter has obvious signs of minor rust in various places, a slight indent on the top plate above the smith corona label, is missing a screw on a plate under the top row of keys (as shown) and the fabric cover on the case is torn up on the edges from several decades of portable use.
