This unit has not been used since the 1990's. Fires up and lights up but belts slip. Motors sound good. Heads have had little wear. But it does need serviced with new belts and a check up. Heavy and solid construction. Wood appears in excellent shape with no apparent scratches or discoloring. Some slight scuffing on top edges, please see pictures. Used but very good condition.

Item powers on, but is being sold untested, for parts & repair. The first cassette deck door does not eject. The top of the unit does display fairly heavy scratching & does have a dent (photo #13).

As you can see in the video, it powers on well (might struggle a bit to open and require a bit of a pull to open all the way). I am imagining a small amount of grease would fix this though. I have not tested this with a tape, but based on how it powers on, it seems it will operate well.

The JVC Double Cassette Deck has been tested. The left Cassette player works. The right cassette side can fast forward, rewind, and pause and stop, but I do not hear audio. It may not work as it should.

Tested at Interwest Electronics Corporation and confirmed to be fully functional. Playback works great. There is a light motor whir during playback — very common for vintage Sony ES decks — and it’s not loud or distracting. I didn’t record a video during the test, but I can send one directly of: • the unit powering on • the transport engaging • a cassette playing with the reels turning
