Overall condition fair-good, some aspects a bit better. Pages are clean, light age tone, unmarked except for some light penciled notes in volume one. Nothing excessive. In volume two there’s a couple of deeply tanned pages (482, 483) from newsprint used as a bookmark. Volume one has some foxing at the first fly leaf, title page, and end pages. Some page margins show light age tone at the margins. Bindings on both books are very good. Exteriors are good with minimal shelf, edge wear and worn spine cover ends. Generously illustrated with in text illustrations and fold out charts. Large amount of detailed case histories.

This striking piece was put out by the Medical Department of United States Army during the First World War; Volume 11-Surgery. In Very Good condition for its age, with a scuff on the spine and some fading and light staining to the hardcover boards (pictured). The book is structurally tight and sound. The interior pages are in excellent condition; glossy and full of hundreds of photographs of actual soldiers, their injuries and healing progress post procedures. Some very graphic images that show the incredibly severe injuries suffered by many of the soldiers with the efforts taken to treat them.
