This is a vintage hardcover book about the history of knitting by Richard Rutt. If you're interested in how knitting started, this is the book to go to for a deep dive on the subject! It was published in 1987 and although I'm not sure which edition this is, it's definitely an early one. It's in good preowned condition, and would make a fantastic gift for a knitter who's interested in history--or even one who just wants to keep it on their coffee table so people will know they knit!
