Here's an old school portable typewriter with its original carrying case. I've used it quite often a few years back for high school essays, and encountered no issues. All the keys work, including shift lock, backspace, and margin release (the adjustable margins are also fully functional, complete with a little bell that dings where you approach the end of a line).
