John Kacere and Photorealism

Few of the original Photorealists brought as much to the movement in terms of subject and content as Iowa native, John Kacere who, with his ultra-real lingerie-clad female form - the ‘Goddess’, as he referred to the concept - tested the limits of Photorealism’s interpretation of the mundane and the banal while also finding long-illusive commercial success. Through first person interviews and accounts this book chronicles the turbulent life and ideas of one of the great Photorealist painters and his search for perfection. Full page images of each of his Goddess paintings are included, 130 in total, from the first untitled work in 1969 to Aimie '99.
