Zucchini usually taste best when picked at a length of 4-5". When the squash is fully grown, the seeds are also ready. Slice the squash open, take out the pulp and seeds, and wash off the pulp. Place the mixture in a bowl of water to get rid of any leftover pulp; the viable seeds will sink to the bottom.
