This crockpot is new never used. I plugged it in, and it heats up. The color of this crockpot is a black Matt. This crockpot would be great for football gatherings and parties. For keeping food warm. large dips, nacho sauce, taco meat ect. However this is Not for cooking food. There is no temperature dial for cooking . This is just for keeping food warm. Thank You so much
