This hub has eight 10Base-T RJ-45 twisted-pair ports and a MDI/MDIX switch to allow connection of either a workstation or another Ethernet hub -- up to a maximum of 4 hubs in series. Cascading the hubs in this way requires the use of one of the RJ-45 ports, but enables expansion and the addition of network functions such as print and fax services.
