I purchased an LTO-9 tape drive to back up ~17TB of video recordings, however it turns out that LTO-9 tapes only have a usable capacity of 16.37 TB despite advertising a 'native' capacity of 18 TB. I furthermore discovered that videos cannot be compressed at all, so even though LTO-9 tapes can theoretically hold up to 45TB of compressed data, that doesn't apply to video recordings, thus at this point an LTO-9 tape system does not meet my needs.
