Thus, it comes as no surprise that the Black Box II Cajon improves on its predecessor in multiple ways. First, its meranti (also known as Philippine mahogany) soundboard is 100% glued on to enhance the Black Box's overall sound, resonance, and playing feel. Meanwhile, its body is constructed from an environmentally friendly medium-density fiberboard (MDF), which gives you both durability and longevity. On the inside, you won't find flight information, but you will find two sets of internal snare wires that provide an articulate and sensitive snare sound.
