This is a rare find. The Porto-Rite typewriter was made by Remington for Sears Roebuck in the late 1920s. This one has the lowest serial number I know of (SR 5062) and still retains the stickers from its use at Emory University. This is not in working order, but neither do I know of any missing parts. It’s well used. One corner of the case has come apart, but is not otherwise broken. This can be restored to be a really rare gem of antique typewriters. It comes from an estate. Whether restored or just displayed for ambiance it is vey unique. Its condition is rustic, but I’m pricing that in. And if you’re shopping this year for an antique or typewriter enthusiast, you can’t do much better than this old Porto-Rite. Check out the pictures.
