All lights turn off and on when they should. Sliders for recording work perfectly. To my ears speed seems accurate with no noticeable WoW or excessive hiss. The problem is the left channel creates a high-pitched frequency sound that will pierce your eardrum when Play and Play/Record (no tape is needed for this to happen) are engaged.
