Original, fully-licensed VCD release of the 1971 Shaw Brothers martial arts / action film, THE RESCUE, which starred Lo Lieh, Shih Szu, Ku Wen-Chung, Fang Mian, Ling Ling and Bolo Yeung. The film was directed by San Kong. This VCD is from the official Celestial / Hong Kong release of the film ... produced by IVL / Intercontinental Video Limited. THE RESCUE is one of very difficult IVL titles to find in DVD form. VCDs are Video Compact Disc -- an alternate video format to DVD -- which is widely used in a number of Asian countries. The discs used are produced on CDs, rather than DVDs, so far less information can be held on a single disc. This results in two main differences between VCDs and DVDs. First, VCDs are usually issued in two discs per film, rather than a single disc for a DVD.
