I use this unit as a stand alone CD player. I didn't use it for DVD. play cd great, does not skip I have checked SACD, it only reads the CD layer from SACD hybrid. the remote control from other models however it does the job there are some scratches here and there but it still looks Weighs nearly 30 lbs and features a rigid hybrid aluminum and copper chassis designed to act as a Faraday cage, blocking out electromagnetic interference (EMI).
