Grinding Method

Blade grinders are the most affordable type of electrical grinder and use a small sharp metal blade spinning at a very high and consistent speed to grind the coffee beans. This blade pulverizes the coffee bean repeatedly until the desired consistency is reached. The fineness of the grounds is only determined by the length of time the cutting blades are spinning.

Burr grinders are generally more expensive and grind using a method that is recommended by most coffee connoisseurs. Burr grinders work by stripping off slivers of the coffee bean; this exposes a lot more of the bean surface area for the water to extract the coffee flavor from. This method of grinding also produces a lot less heat which further helps promote and maintain the durability of the aromatics and flavors that make a great tasting coffee.
