These ceramic glass elements provide almost instantaneous heat. They can also sit perfectly flush with the surrounding benchtop, so they're unobtrusive and easy to clean. Available in electric.

Solid Elements
If you want a neat appearance to your cooktop, solid elements may be the answer. While slower to heat than other options, they provide a constant, even heat that's perfect for simmering. Available in electric.
