Terminal
Terminals are the connectors on the back of the speakers that connect with the speaker cables. There are two basic types: spring clips and binding posts.
Spring Clip terminals are usually found on cheaper speakers and receivers. They work best with cable with bare wire connections.
Binding Post terminals are a lot more sturdier, and are often found on higher-quality speakers and receivers. They have a threaded bolt or screw that tightens down against the wire or connector for an extra-secure connection.
