Cheap - yes. Great - no.
For a teenager or a first time camcorder owner - maybe.
Invest more and you will get more. A friend of mine bought this one (she wanted a small, unexpensive camcorder) and she is unhappy with it.

Pros Easy Operation, Great Quality, Nice sound, not at all laggy.
Cons Low battery life (About 6 hours or so)
Recommended it? Yes

I got this camera for my 15th birthday, and it works wonderfully. I'm a parkour/ freerunner, and this camera is perfect for recording and promoting stunts, etc. It turns on when you open the view finder on the side.
