Costs a little more, but it worth it

Pros: Hardware-based, high-performance modem. Great included FAX software. Great technical support. 10-year warranty.
Cons: Costs a little more, but you're paying for better quality.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this modem for anybody who uses a dial-up internet access. Users will appreciate the better performance and system stability that only a hardware-based modem can provide.

Pros: easy to set up, affordable, dependable, easy to use, maintains great internet speed

The Bottom Line: The Motorola SURFboard is a great cable modem, and one that has performed very dependably and consistently.  It is a highly recommended modem for wireless.

The SURFboard SB5101 is a very fast, capable and reliable cable modem.

Pros: The SB5101 is a reliable cable modem and is an Internet bridge for your network.
Cons: It has no Wi-Fi or router capability, the default information status screens are cryptic.
The Bottom Line: If you have cable Internet access and pay a monthly fee to rent a cable modem, you may be able to purchase this modem and save the monthly fee.
