I bought this machine to replace a nice Toshiba desktop replacement I've been using for a couple of years.  I travel a lot and use my machine pretty heavily for work and play, so this review represents about nine months of pretty hard use.

Pros Thin and light. Good battery life. Most ports you'll need. Fast resume.
Cons No SSD. Finish on surfaces isn't durable. Lack of wired Ethernet is irritating.
Recommended it? Yes

The Acer S3 (951-6646 specifically) is one of the first generation Ultrabooks, and cosmetically designed to look very much like the MacBook Air.
