This differs from scanning in that the unit searches for frequencies that have not been programmed into the scanner's channels. The scanner automatically chooses between two speeds (Search and Turbo Search) while searching. Review: Avid listener of community events, once programmed you can hear almost anything within distance. Easy to set up, voice quality is excellent..definitely recommend if you're interested in this type of stuff.
