The Tacoma pickup has been carried over with minor alterations for 2002. It is again available as a regular cab, extended cab, or a four-door double cab. Both the regular and extended cab models are equipped with a 2.7L four-cylinder engine, with a 3.4L 190-hp V6 available at extra cost. The double cabs come standard with the V6 and a four-speed automatic transmission. The Tacomas safety features include dual front airbags, side-impact door beams, and available anti-lock brakes. Several upgrade packages are available on the Tacoma, providing features such as off-road suspension (4WD models), alloy wheels, privacy glass, and color-keyed exterior trim. The 4Runner is available in six models: Base, SR5 and Limited in either 2WD or 4WD. The 2000 model has only a few revisions from the previous year. Toyota has added a rear defroster, rear intermittent wiper, and chrome bumpers to the list of standard features on the Base model. In addition to the regular standard features, the SR5 comes with cruise control, power locks, an AM/FM cassette stereo with CD player, and an optional Sport Package. This package contains a hood scoop, color-keyed bumpers and grille, front fog lights, and sport bucket seats.
