Not a bad dubbing deck for the price.

Pros: Fairly simple to set up and use. Surprisingly good picture quality

Cons: Lmitted number of input and output jacks. Does not have a built-in tuner

The Bottom Line: Not a bad dubbing deck for the price. Connection options somewhat lmitted. Surprisingly good picture quality from DVD's that were created from VHS types.

Slide out tray stopped working making it junk.

Pros: Offers DVD to VHS and vice versa dubbing.

Cons: Broke after 2 months. Unusable. Waste of $150.

The Bottom Line: It is completely unacceptable for a product like this to break in just 2 months of moderate use. I would avoid Sony until they go back to being reliable.

Just what I needed it for.

Pros: Ease of use, Multiple video & audio options, and data input flexibility.

Cons: No "S Video", Noisy at times

The Bottom Line: For a lower end DVD recorder Sony has a good to great option in the market.

Review: Our Hi-8 camcorder is dying and buying a new one does not make sense. I can play the tapes on it, but recording anything is not possible. So, how do I get the home movies onto DVD? Insert the Sony DVD Recorder.
