Worst piece of electronics I have ever purchased.

Pros: No pros.

Cons: Constant malfunctions of all kinds. Absolute garbage.

Review: After just a few months, the CD tray began to malfunction, and playing CD's was impossible. Sent to Sony repair under warranty, paid $$$ out of pocket for shipping (ouch!). A week after I got it back, the tuner stopped working. I will soon be paying...

The Little Box That Can Really Rock!

Pros: Nice Size (not too big, not too small), Great Sound, Well Built, Easy To Use.

Cons: 4 Poor Sounding EQ Settings, Confusing Timer Functions, Questionable CD Tray Build Quality.

The Bottom Line: The MHC-EC55 is a very impressive mini Hi-Fi system, with a small number of imperfections. Overall it's a great sounding system that I am very happy to own.

A little Genezi brother, a big sound shelf

Pros: Compact speakers and unit Ease of use Bigger volume knob Well distributed controls

Cons: Tape not controlled by remote Manual eq missing Only 1.5m of wire speakers

The Bottom Line: If you're somewhat bill limited and want a good sound system, just try this model, even if has or not a tape deck, but choose the silver-black speakers
