The Rode NT 1A is a cardioid, large diaphragm, side address condenser microphone intended for general instrument and vocal recording. The NT 1A features a 1 inch large diaphragm with gold-plated membrane resulting in wide frequency response and exceptional signal to noise ratio. The cardioid polar pattern provides attenuation at the off-axis sections of the capsule, minimizing noise caused by room ambiance, instruments, monitors, headphones etc. Balanced, transformer-less output circuitry results in quiet, low-noise signal reproduction at high output levels. The NT 1A is powered via +48 Volt phantom power and features a wide frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz Less

The Amazing Shure KSM 27!!

by jactharippa , Jul 16, 2007
Pros: beautiful high end, nice, responsive low end, mid range is sweet
Cons: with larger bassy voices, like mine, it can make mixes get muddy, without EQ'ing.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I have been running a small time home recording studio for two years now, and I have run tried and used various mics raning from MXL 990's to high end Nueman microphones. For the price, this microphone is an UNBELIEVABLE steal!! I have used this...

Officially the best mic in it's price range.

by meatex z , Jul 15, 2008
Pros: very good sound, high bang for the buck value, low noise.
Cons: cheap accessories, no bells and whistles.
The Bottom Line: This mic from RODE is guaranteed not to disappoint you. It has a budget price but this doesn't affect the sound quality.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: NT1A looks somehow familiar, it was probably designed after Neumann U87 - U89. It won the Electronic Musician 2004 Editor's Choice Award and RODE's site claims it is the world's quietest studio condenser microphone with only 5 dBA of self-noise...

Great mic for the money

by shnewsman , Jan 21, 2007
Pros: Nice, wide range. Attractive price.
Cons: Capsule is fragile. Lots of overshoot on spoken word. Shock mount is cheap.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Rode has been making pro mics for nearly ten years. They brought professional quality down to affordable. Their NT-2 is still sought-after, although it's not made anymore. The NT-1A is a crisp, bright cardioid condenser in the Neumann tradition...
