Speaker fails after one month - have tried three phones!

Pros: Good range/reception. Used in around heavy machinery, concrete walls, distance of 75' radius from base.

Cons: Speaker/ringer fails eventually. Have wasted ALOT of work time exchanging the units (three, so far).

The Bottom Line: I am not willing to try this model again, after three units have had the speaker fail. If you try it, I would buy the extended warranty.

Entering the 5.8MHz Range: Panasonic's Cordless Phone and Answering Machine Set Impresses

Pros: * Reasonably priced
* 5.8 MHz range
* Extra handset(s) don't require phone jacks

Cons: * Keypad doesn't illuminate

The Bottom Line: This is a great set for a household that can use 2 handsets and a digital answering machine as it offers great bang for the buck.
