Basic function at a low price

Pros: Inexpensive and versatile, can hold its own with today's technology
Cons: Quirky switching on optical inputs, odd remote control issue, only fair quality sound
The Bottom Line: This is a decent, entry level unit for a very low price, but it did not fill my needs.

Inexpensive but a true performer!

Pros: Good sound processing Good FM tuner Low price
Cons: Three component inputs Three digital inputs
The Bottom Line: For an inexpensive component switching receiver, this is a real winner at $99.

Review: I was skeptical about the TX-SR304 since I only paid $99 on sale at Fry's. Right now it serves as my front room receiver to provide two channel stereo to two Polk Lsi-7 speakers. A Carver D12 sub woofer supplements the bass.
