Pros: Great build quality, V8 offers class exclusive 6-spd tranmission, very quiet smooth ride.

Cons: Could use more hidden storage space.

The Bottom Line: My girlfriend and I love the Mountaineer Premier. Dollar for dollar it is the best bargain in near-luxury midsize SUV's.

2008 Mercury Mariner Premier 4x4 V6

Pros: driving, parking, functional cargo space, excellent safety and intelligent 4wd systems, power, exterior appearance

Cons: poorly mated transmission, interior design, city gas mileage, road noise

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this CUV to someone that wants more SUV and less car, yet still get a good compromise in return.
