new LX-SV with 15-inch steel wheels, LX with 16-inch alloy wheels, and top-shelf ES with 17-inch alloys. All have a 200-hp 3.0-liter V6 and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The V6 is based on a design from Ford, Mazdas parent company. ABS is standard. Front side airbags and traction control are optional on LX and standard on ES. MPVs seat seven and have 2nd-row bucket seats that slide together to create a 2-passenger bench. Their 3-place 3rd-row bench folds into the floor. Dual sliding side doors are standard and have windows that roll down. For 2006, the E-Series Van returns with little changes. The E- Series is available in XL, XLT, and Chateau trims. The XL and XLT models feature a standard eight-passenger seating configuration, while the Chateau model can seat seven passengers with its first and second row captain's chairs configuration. The standard 4.6L V-8 engine and the optional 255-hp 5.4L V-8 are paired to a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Standard features on the E350 include air conditioning, dual front airbags, tilt steering, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. The Chateau trim upgrades by adding features such as aluminum wheels, a CD stereo, two-tone paint, privacy glass, and remote keyless entry. A rear seat entertainment system is also available. Less

Pros: Nimble, versatile interior, fake wood gone
Cons: Light steering, busy ride, rear seat comfort
The Bottom Line: For most people the Honda Odyssey will be worth the extra money. For those wanting a shorter van, the Pontiac could be a better choice.

Pros: Versatility, sporty, small minivan
Cons: Rear seat comfort
The Bottom Line: I love the 2003 MPV. It has flexible seating arrangements, great engine response, excellent reliability. Most bang for the buck in the minivan market!

Two weeks ago I found out that I was pregnant with my 3rd child. My other kids are both in car seats. We wanted a small Minivan that would easily fit 3 car seats, a booster, regular and infant seat. The Mazda MPV was our answer.
