First introduced in 1957, the Heresy, a three-way design, started out as a compact center channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn® in three-speaker stereo arrays. In 1985, we made some changes and improvements to this model and re-released it as the Heresy II. Today, the new Heresy III has a more powerful woofer, a bi-wire network, and a titanium diaphragm tweeter with a larger magnet assembly. The midrange compression driver also features a new titanium diaphragm. All of these changes result in improved tonal balance and increased output. In fact the Heresy III is three decibels louder (96 to 99dB), improving on its already high sensitivity. In addition to delivering smooth, dynamic and low distortion sound, the Heresy III is available in a high-quality cherry, walnut or black ash wood veneer finish. Included is a slant riser base for floor placement that can be removed for cabinet installations. Less

The Heritage Series La Scala three-way loudspeaker provides a very Klipschorn®-like performance with sparkling highs; extreme output, yet smooth midrange; and the unsurpassed low distortion bass response of the patented Klipsch folded-horn woofer. Utilizing the same horn-loaded drivers used in the Klipschorn® and Belle Klipsch, the La Scala is highly efficient and can produce high volumes with very little power and undetectable distortion. The La Scala effectively unveils the recorded musical information, enabling you to hear the intricate detail and emotional response of the artist. Less

Learning to fall in love again

by toolguy1963 , Nov 20, 2006
Pros: Great company, unenhanced sound reproduction, crisp sound with no distortion
Cons: New press board material, some lows can fall off, need to find best room position
The Bottom Line: Great home speaker system with years on the market and gradual improvements. What sounds great at the store sounds different at home. The Heresy always sounds better though.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The Klipsch Heresy III is a progressive improvement over an already wonderful speaker. I purchased the Heresy II signature edition and a second set of unfinished wood Heresys back in the mid 80s after trying out numerous speaker systems from Cerwin...

Klipsch La Scala age very well

by psgalbraith , Jan 18, 2005
Pros: Incredible detail, very revealing
Very efficient, high dynamic range, loud
Holds value for decades.
Cons: Low bass benefits highly from a good sub-woofer even for music.
The Bottom Line: A love them or hate them product. I love them! Otherwise I wouldn't have kept them for 25 years!

Review: I bought a pair of 1973 La Scala's (Type AA) second-hand in 1980 from a cousin. I used them at home (my parent's at the time) and also used them about a dozen times for a mobile disco service we ran. These speakers fill a large commercial room with...
