The best thing short of a laptop

Pros: Smaller than any laptop, standard expansion ports
Cons: Voice recording sucks, CF slot should be CF-II, not CF-I.
The Bottom Line: If you want long run-times and don't need to do massive data crunching, this thing is great.

Review: I used to use a Toshiba Libretto but I got tired of lugging around the power supply and constantly hunting for a plug. After analyzing my use of the machine, I realized that I could switch to a handheld unit with a few adjustments.

A Tale of Two Designs

Pros: Looks pretty
Cons: cramped keyboard, bogus design

Review: My quest for a portable began with the Jornada 680/690 leading the pack of potential candidates. I like the clamshell form factor because it provides a keyboard (being limited to stylus-only input really hampers your ability to enter text quickly)...
