The 1999 Savana is available in five models: regular and extended. There are no major changes for 1999 model line-up. The standard PassLock theft-deterrent system features a special lock assembly and decoder, which require a valid key for operation. In addition, all models are equipped with Next Generation airbags. A passenger-side air bag is standard on all models. The rear heater is included with the front and rear air conditioning on the extended models. The optional keyless entry system is available on all models. Fifteen-passenger seating is available on 3500 Extended model. The Savanas engine offers maintenance-free reliability for 100,000 miles with platinum spark plugs, low-resistance spark plug wires and long-life coolant. Less

For 2002, the Savana Passenger Van has been carried over with only minor changes. The 2500 models are available in Base and SLE trim, with either a regular or extended wheelbase. All models feature a 5.7L V-8 coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission. (The 6.5L diesel engine is no longer available for the 2500.) Additional standard equipment on all Savana Passenger Vans includes air conditioning, dual front airbags, child safety seat anchors, and four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Optional upgrades include remote keyless entry, tinted glass, an AM/FM CD stereo, chrome-trimmed wheels, and a trailering package. Pros: Suits needs of a large family, engine is reliable, good gas mileage
Cons: Cheap seatbelt clips, blindspot to rear
The Bottom Line: If you need a van this size I would recommend it. I would buy another Savana.

Pros: Lots of space, and power.
Cons: Not quite the most apt snow vehicle.
