- Works for car driving, but some people prefer a bigger screen for the car.

Yes
I got my unit in 2004. It was much more expensive back then, but it had a larger, color screen, and more features. It works fine, even under moderate cover. However, under heavy cover it does lose the signal, just like any other GPS unit. It holds the signal much longer under cover than my Geko...

Very accurate GPS location and tracking. Floats. Standard batteries. Good PC software.
Cons
Expensive. Menu system hard to learn. Separately purchased Topo map is way outdated.

Ouch. I just plunked down $550 for my new Garmin GPS receiver and the North America Topographical Map CDROM.
And I'm not done yet. I likely will have to purchase the Inland Lakes, Bluechart Atlantic, and a North America City map.
