Pros Portability, decent price (if you look around), works well, energy efficient.
Cons Foam window install kit. Looks like R2-D2.
Recommended it? Yes

I picked up my WA-1220E from Fry's for $500 in March of 2007. So far, we haven't had any really hot days but the unit is working very well. I did a lot of research before buying a portable A/C. This model was selected because of it's high energy efficiency and cooling capacity.

Several years ago I had purchased the Danby DPAC8399 Air conditioner/Dehumidifier/Fan/Heater to cool my computer/home theater room which gets hotter due to the heat generated by these devices. Pros Fast cooling; energy efficient; duel hoses; self evaporating; easy controls.
Cons Noisy, but better than others I've heard.
Recommended it? Yes

Not wanting another year of melting in our west-facing condo, we decided to get a portable a/c unit this year.  I looked around in the spring, found a great deal at Costco ($100 off), and good reviews for this Danby unit.
