It uses a 4.3-liter V6 and automatic transmission, and is available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Seating for up to eight is available. Astro comes with full-height rear cargo doors or extra-cost Dutch doors with separate-opening upper glass. It is also available as a 2-seat Cargo Van. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard. Pros: Great traction (AWD), towing, cargo space, ride, handling, reliability, visibility and price. Dutch rear doors!
Cons: Poor resale, gas mileage, one sliding door and heavy/unmovable seats.
The Bottom Line: If you can live with the fuel mileage and 80's styling you'll love this van.

Pros: Towing, power, high clearance, versatility, 8 seat capacity
Cons: In-town gas mileage, lack of newer bells and whistles

This is the only minivan that I know of that can tow almost 5000 pounds, have the clearance of a truck, and therefore be a good vehicle both around town and when camping in the National Forests of Arizona.
