The 2002 Sierra 3500 Crew Cab is available in six models: Base, LS, and LT in either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations. Air conditioning is now standard on all models, and exterior colors Sunset Gold and Sunset Orange are no longer available. The LS model features cruise control, keyless entry remote, power locks, mirrors, and windows. The LT model adds the Electrical Convenience Package, OnStar, an automatic transmission, and six-way power leather bucket seats. The Electrical Convenience Package includes an auto day/night mirror, front fog lights, a compass, and an outside temperature gauge. The 2005 Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab is available in eight models: Work Truck, Base, LS, and LT trims in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. GM offers several engine and transmission combinations, including two gasoline V-8 engines and one turbocharged V-8 diesel. The 6.6L Duramax turbocharged V-8 diesel engine provides 310 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft of torque. Available transmissions include an Allison five-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. Optional packages include the Trailering Equipment Package, a Skid Plate Package, and a Snow Plow Prep Package. Pros: Comfort, Towing power, Quiet
Cons: Diesel fuel is too expensive. Lately $60 to fill.
The Bottom Line: The best heavy duty truck around. Best towing and ride comfort. Fair milage for breed.

Pros: Excellent for hauling lots of stuff including the family.
Cons: No trunk, no standard child safety locks, and no side door air bags.
The Bottom Line: The 2005 Chevrolet Silverado is true to the new, chic wave of big family trucks. It's got the juice and 4X4 power for wet and dry roads.

Pros: Quiet, powerful diesel engine, luxury interior, excellent fit and finish.
Cons: Smokes on hard acceleration due to turbo lag, turbocharger design, High cost of diesel fuel.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this truck. I'm not a professional driver, but I know quality when I see it.
