The Beastie Boys: Adrock (vocals, guitar); MCA (vocals, bass); Mike D (vocals, drums). Additional personnel: Mark Ramos Nishita (keyboards); Sian Harwood (background vocals), Biz Markie. B-Boys Check Old Sounds At the Door

Pros Lots of variety; So Whatcha Want
Cons some weaker tracks
Recommended it? Yes

One of the Beastie Boys' most admirable aspects is their frequent desire to reinvent themselves and try new sounds. They may have started with loud, frat boy rap, but by their second album, they were smooth, stylish, and much more mature. Sure enough, by the third album, they were changing things... Pros Classic Beastie Boys
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

This 1992 album release, Check Your Head, is another great effort from my absolutely hands down favorite group, The Beastie Boys. It was created at a time when many critics and neighsayers in the musical community were down on them, claiming that they had reached their peaks musically and... Read full review »

Pros The Warner Brothers material gets it's due.
Cons The compiler didn't credit the album that the R&B cover songs originated from.
Recommended it? Yes

Those two songs lead off this collection of material recorded during the years of 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1979. Warner Brothers, maybe for... Read full review »
