Quality control issue

Pros: Mount seems sturdy. Dove tail mount system.
Cons: Missing items, cannot use focus knob out of box. Quality issues. Motor cheap.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this model. Buy the 6 or 8 inch version and inspect carefully for defects and missing items.

Potent Scope on A Lightweight Computerized Mount [Update 07/07/2009]

Pros: Potent telescope, light package is easy to move. Inexpensive for what you get.
Cons: Limited field of view. Power hungry.
The Bottom Line: The NexStar 8SE makes a larger telescope portable with computer guidance than any other package. It does a lot, works well, and is reasonably priced.
