It has only been last year (2009) that Canon abandoned the MPx race and focused on picture quality in this market segment. My middle son is interested in photography and he is taking a photograph class. We could not find the old family camera (Canon Powershot S3 IS) so we needed to get a new one. The Canon Powershot S3 IS was also not entirely sufficient for the class.
