The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is the 6th generation of Canon s popular entry-level DSLR camera series and it improves upon earlier Rebels by incorporating many features that up till now could only be found on Canon s pricier mid-level DSLRs. Among the Rebel T1i s key attributes are a 15.1Mp CMOS sensor (similar to the sensor found in the EOS 50D) for detailed, full volume prints, Live View for accurate pre-focusing and editing, continuous burst-rates of up to 3.4 fps, a DIGIC 4 image processor, and a scratch and glare-resistant high-resolution (920,000-dot) 3 Clear View LCD that allows for easy 100% image viewing from angles up to 170 off-center from the screen. The big news however is the Rebel T1i s ability to record a choice of full HD 1080p, 720p, and VGA video capture, which places it among the few DSLRs currently available that can capture true high-resolution video that beats or meets the image quality of far costlier pro camcorders. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera, A Review by A Camera Techno Peasant

bythe_gas_man Oct 13, 2007

Pros I've figured out how to operate it and if "I" can, anyone can.
Cons A week later and I'm still reading about features packed into it and learning
Recommended it? Yes

What, you may well ask, is "The Gasman" doing in "Electronics", attempting to review a Sony digital camera. I won't even try to pretend that I'm an expert on this product. I received it as a birthday gift and I've been experimenting with it for a week. Taking pictures of everything and anything,... Read full review »

Pros Tons of features yet easy to use for my wife, sharp LCD, sharper pictures.
Cons Plain boxy design, lack of Sony STYLE, no zoom while recording video.
Recommended it? Yes

WHY DID I BUY IT?
A few weeks back, I was walking up Madison avenue and 56th street when I got the typical 'sky-is-falling' frantic call from my wife. "I need to list a property and I can't find my camera. I need one so please bring one home TODAY"…click ! After screaming nearly all the... Read full review »

Fast, Light, Powerful DSLR

bydigitaldiver Dec 14, 2009

Pros Light, fast processor, excellent performance, full compatibility.
Cons Too many accessories for my budget
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the T1I as an upgrade from my previous Digital Rebel and EOS 10s. Compatibility with my existing 28-135is and 75-300is lenses was a given, and I added the brilliant Canon 10-22 ultrawide zoom to my kit. After 3 weeks of hiking around Australia and New Zealand, I couldn't be happier with... Read full review »

Canon T1i DSLR a great buy!

Pros Great for low light photography.
Cons 3.4 fps is a little slow but not a huge issue.
Recommended it? Yes

Being a Nikon user I was very impressed with this upper upper-entry-level DSLR. With its impressive 1080p HD video recording at 20fps, and its expandable ISO up to 12,800.It shoots up to speeds of 3.4 fps delivering beautiful image quality even at 3200 ISO enabling the user to shoot in low light...
