The BMW 5-Series bows this new model year boasting several enhancements to both optional and standard equipment, as well as a new wagon body style. The 528 models are now available with a Sport-Premium Package, which combines the features of the Sport and Premium Packages into one. Other new features include a car and key memory system which allows individual users to tailor electronic functions to their own priorities and tastes, an infrared-reflecting windshield, and a new aluminum cylinder block for the standard 193 HP six-cylinder engine. New engineering options include a park distance control system which is an ultrasonic warning system for maneuvering in tight places, and Xenon headlights. The wagon models are based upon the sedans. While the recently revealed 2004 5 Series makes use of the "flame surfacing" idea favored by BMW's current head of design, the next 3 Series looks more like a smaller version of the previous 5 Series. Engine choices probably won't change all that much although the high-performance Motorsport coupe (likely renamed 4 Series) is expected to get V8 power. BMW's iDrive control system is a probable addition along with plenty of other new comfort and convenience features necessary to keep the best-selling sedan at the top of the sales charts. Less

Just As Well It Doesn't Drink Red Bull!

by cujimmy , Jan 15, 2009
Pros: Truly the "ultimate driving machine" A fantastic high performance vehicle for silly money (Second hand)
Cons: Not a lot! Well, maybe the trunk space.
The Bottom Line: A fantastic high performance vehicle for silly money (Second hand)

Review: I recently changed my taxi. (For the second time this year!) My old car was a BMW 525TDS which I'd run for about 3 years (and about 90,000 miles) practically trouble free, so my first choice of vehicle when looking about for a change...

The other '3'

Pros: Phenomenal handling, safety, construction
Cons: Small backseat and trunk, could use about 50 more horsepower
The Bottom Line: -

Review: With the 3 Series scheduled for another facelift when the 2006 model hits the showroom floors, I decided to grab some wheel time in the 2005 model. The '06 is on my short list of 'possible next cars' and I'd like to know what they've changed...

My 3rd Beemer--Still a Fantastic CAR--Almost perfect

by socalh2oskier , Dec 4, 2004
Pros: Fun Factor is a 10--great handling and also classy.
Cons: AVOID THE NAV--IT IS HORRIBLE! Tilt on steering wheel should come down lower.
The Bottom Line: BMW 3 series continues to lead the pack with the best combo of sport and class on the road
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I just traded my 2004 BMW 330 convertible for a 2005 325 convertible. I loved the 2004, but it had the sport package, and, after a couple of back surgeries last year, it sat a bit low and was uncomfortable. I had previously had a 2003 325...
