When installed in a Campus-RS Desktop Unit or a Campus-RS Star chassis, the Campus-RS CSU/DS-1 Interface Card (CADS1) allows the transmission of a T1 or fractional T1 data stream for up to eight miles over unconditioned twisted-pair copper wiring, using HDSL technology. The CADS1 terminates a long-haul T1 line on the customer premises. It provides maintenance jacks for T1 line monitoring and signal insertion.
