Delighted with our new Whirlpool Cabrio

When our old washer died my wife and looked at the various energy efficient top loaders. However, they were all too big to get down the stairs to the basement laundry room. The salesman showed us the Cabrio and we both knew this was the ideal machine for our situation: energy efficient, large capacity, trusted manufacturer, "reasonable price" and it could be installed in the basement.

When we checked out the online reviews there seemed to be two camps - love it and hate it. No in between. We were in a quandary but we made the decision to buy the Cabrio 6600. We purchased the extended warranty and had the unit delivered.

It's only been two weeks but the machine is terrific.

The Cabrio is easy to use. At first it looked daunting, but it is well designed. All the choices move left to right on the console. I've used almost all the cycles and can see the difference in the clothes. In all modes the clothes come out well spun with not much wetness remaining.

A theme of the negative reviews was the wrinkling because of the high speed spinning. That has not been a problem, so far. Since I normally "shake-out" each item of laundry before putting it in the dryer or on a hanger, I may have stumbled onto the "fix" for that.

All-in-all my wife and agree we made a sound purchase. And, as a bonus, with the glass top there is always something to watch while doing the laundry.
