Intermatic PanelGuard™ (IG1240RC) Surge Suppressor

i purchased one of these from our local electrical distributor as we had a previous power surge which took out our computer. we had another power surge after it was installed, so sent it away for warranty. warranty was denied as surge was considered too large in intermatics standards for this unit. we purchased another brand, and were told from the manufacturer " good luck collecting from any manufacturer" as they will always claim it wasn't a fault of their product. do not buy on the assumption that they have a connected equipment warranty!!!
