Excellent in Low Light

Date of Review:  Jul 7, 2004
The Bottom Line: This is a fine camcorder for serious consumers and event videographers. Its low-light performance is unusually good in this class of camcorder.

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an intro prosumer camera or are looking for a durable camera for your business, the PD170 can not be beat.
Review: I have used this camera for about 3 years now and I love it. It has great features, specs and continues to be an industry standard after many years.

No Better Camcorder in this Price Range.

Date of Review:  Oct 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you want professional quality video in a lightweight package - this is it.
Review: I'm a military journalist and had the pleasure of dragging one of these cameras around Iraq for a year. It sure beats the old Sony Beta camera that I had before.

It's light weight made it easy to pack along on missions to An Najaf, Sadr...
