Pros: low light sensitivity Zoom/Record on Handle Built in Lens Cover New Gray Body Color
Cons: Achieves beautiful video quality Overpriced For the money, would purchase the VX-2000
The Bottom Line: The Sony VX-2100 is a camera which breathtaking video quality and unsurpassed capability is ideal for a professional videographer or an individual who desires for nothing but the best.

Review: The Sony DCR-VX2100, is simply an upgrade from its once popular 2nd generation Sony DCR-VX2000. The Sony DCR-VX2000 was introduced in summer of 2000, and was a dramatic improvement from the 1st generation Sony DCR-VX1000. Sony improved the VX-2000...

Pros: No doubt about it...Sony makes a great 3-chip camera.
Cons: ND filter and manual exposure controls are impossible to use "smoothly"
The Bottom Line: A great camera for the pro-sumer. Excellent low light performance, outstanding picture quality, great sound.

Review: About this Review

Pros: pro level video, solid case construction, responsive zoom
Cons: price, a little hefty in size, most shots will need a tripod.
The Bottom Line: those looking for something more than family videos will find this a good match. Also look at the Canon GL2.

Review: This unit is a "pro-sumer" unit... not quite what the pros use, but well above the consumer level unit.
The 3ccd senor captures colors in rich vibrant definition and images are crisp and clean... none of the typical "squiggles and lines"... |

Review: I own a Sony DSR250 and Canon GL2. Here is a quick comparison summary. I brought the VX2100 3 months ago and used it on 5 weddings. I am pleased with it.
Things I liked: 1. The low light performance is MUCH more superior to the GL2... |

Pros: Great sound and picture quality, tough as hell, good cold/warm heat transitions
Cons: 8mb memory stick, replacement parts expensive(mic. mesh is $69 and lens hood is $90 )
The Bottom Line: This is an awesome product. The price can be scary but you get your moneys worth in the picture/sound quality, and the DURABILITY.

Review: I purchased my DCR VX-2100 used from a buddy and we have filmed countless hours on this thing and it looks and sounds as good as ever, and i did i mention its tough as hell. We dropped it lens first onto pavement out of ford f-150 with a 6 inch...

Pros: great in low-light; beautiful image; rugged
Cons: front-heavy; no shoulder mount; no independent audio channel control
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I'd rather have a PD170 which is essentially the same camera with XLR inputs and separate controls for audio channels, but at the time the money difference was bigger. We own two VX2100s and we do about thirty weddings a year. These cameras are...

Pros: Value. Low-light feature(1lux). Professional looking, and gives great results!
Cons: None. Not your "uncle joe" video camera.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this video camera to professionals, or people who take videos seriously.

Review: I want to give a rave review on the Sony's VX-2100. I've had it for over a year now, and can say it's definitely one of the best dv professional camcorders out there. And for about $2200 it's really got great value!

Pros: Excellent overall. Great for close up wild animal documentaries - quiet operation, excellent zoom capacity.
Cons: Needs a tripod when max. zoom is used - auto focus slow at distance.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Generally an excellent camera for almost any use. At full zoom - use of tripod stand is a must. Long battery life, quick and easy to shoot with and excellent quality pics, and in auto mode is very forgiving if you tend to shoot towards the sun or...

Review: I have been using the Vx-2100 for nearly 1 year and am happy to say that I find it easy to use but yet full of feature options to allow me to configure and customize the settings. I love every part of the camera and I just bought my son a Vx-2100,...

Pros: great picture. camera has nice feel.
Cons: none yet

Review: I am using it for "pro" production. It is way better than the Sony DXC327 that I have used for last 20 years. The DXC looks more the part, but the DCR-VX2100 delivers. My big hands are pretty clumsy with the DVmini tapes and certainly with all the...
