Good monitor, great support!

I bought this LCD monitor Sept. of 2006 and have been satisfied with it ever since. It comes with very useful and easy to use software that allows you to dial in the contrast and color settings to match your environment and preferences. The display is great for web surfing, photo editing and even fast paced 3D games. If you are ultra picky about accurate colors you might notice some inconsistencies with more expensive LCDs or CRT's. But for general use, it suits my needs well. The adjustable height and analog and digital inputs are nice as well.

With so many horror stories of tech support and warranty claims for electronics on review internet sites, I feel it's important to share this extremely positive experience:
At the time I purchase the monitor I was a little leery because of the large mail in rebate that was offered with it as well. Unfortunately my suspicions were confirmed recently when a line of pixels about 1/4 way down the screen went bad. I was also hesitant to call tech support fearing I wouldn't get to talk to a clear English speaking person, or get the run around that it wasn't covered under warranty. To my surprise, nothing could be further from the truth. After a few button presses through their menu I was talking to a real person, whom I could easily understand, on the second ring! After a short check on my part to verify to them that the issue was with the monitor and not my PC, they setup an exchange at my local UPS store to swap monitors. It was less then a week when the monitor arrived. Talk about easy and impressive service.

My final thoughts are, if you own or are thinking of buying this monitor, REGISTER IT online. It only takes a few minutes and speeds things up if you ever have an issue like I did. Also, check to see where it was made. My original one was made in Mexico and the referb I was sent as a replacement is made in China. I haven't heard of any recalls or mass of defects from either location, but it is something to keep in mind.
