A Breath of Fresh Air

The Bottom Line: If you can afford a little higher price tag, definitely try the Macbook Pro. Best system I've ever owned.
I just got my first Macbook Pro. I have been a Windows PC user since they first came out (yes I was one of the first to have a x286 with a 20 MB hard drive). All I can say is that the Macbook Pro is SWEET. There is a bit of a learning curve if you are used to the PC, but there is a "101" tutorial to help you get up to speed. Speaking of speed, this is the fasted laptop I have ever used. It is the 2.6 ghz with 4GB of memory. The display is fantastic (although I'm not a gamer or extreme graphics user). The dual touch touchpad is great, and the Leapord OS is solid. I use the machine mostly for Java Development, so it is typical for me to have 3 or more JVMs running at the same time - and no performance or memory issues at all. The Expose' and Spaces features really boost efficiency. The suite of applications is very good and only a fraction of the cost of Microsoft Office. But if you're not a fan, you can always use Office for Mac. If you are into music, pictures etc, you won't find a better system. Overall, I'm blown away with this great machine.
