I have a 1996 Subaru Legacy. Needless to say, the stereo that was in that thing was horrible - just horrible. I went out to Best Buy and picked up this CD player.
Everything about this piece of hardware is sweet. It was easy to install, it works perfectly, it improved sound quality exponentially, and it has a remote for some reason, which is cool. It also has an auxiliary cable port which is nice for using an MP3 player, or, in my case, a laptop.
The main thing about this CD player that I noticed is the improvement in sound quality. As far as sound quality goes, Sony is second only to Bose. This player is no different. I still have the crappy speakers that came in my car, but the music is crystal clear even at fairly high volumes. The Equalizer and Xplod Bass options are sweet as well.
If you're going to go all out and get speakers, subs and an amp, this player is more than ready to handle all that as well. It has options and controls for things I've never even heard of.
I've never had any sort of problem with this CD player. Everything works great. It does a good job of reading scratched and/or smudged discs too.
